Modular Hangboard

As climbers, we spent a lot of time training on traditional, large, single-piece hangboards, but we kept running into the same problem. They are designed as a fixed setup. Our shoulders, arm spans, and training goals are all different, yet the board forced us into one position.

When injuries and rehab came into the picture, that limitation became even more evident. Sometimes we needed a wider setup, sometimes narrower, sometimes offset, but a single board couldn’t adapt.

So we started experimenting with something simple. Two independent boards, one for each hand. That way you can mount them exactly where you need them for your body, your training style, or your rehab.

The small mounting bracket is universal across the modular range, so you can quickly swap between any of our holds without tools. If you would like to train different hold spacings, such as wide lock out positions, or close grips, you can add additional mounting plates to your setup, while utilising the same holds you already own.

Training Progression

Slopers are difficult and take time to learn and perfect. While traditional one piece hangboards force you into weird body positions if you want to mismatch holds. Our modular system helps progression by allowing you to train with mismatched holds, in the optimum position for your body.

When starting out we recommend using 1 sloper hold with one hand, and using the top ledge of the pocket hold on the other hand. This will allow you to stabilise yourself, and help share the weight. Practice shifting your weight onto the sloper hold while focusing on your overall body centre of gravity, core and wrist. Simply swap the holds around to train the other arm. Once you can comfortably do this with both arms, introduce the second sloper hold. Each sloper also features a crimp edge, which can also be used in a similar fashion.

Pocket Hold

The Pocket Hold has a 25mm, 15mm, 8mm pockets as well as the top ledge. The pocket hold also includes a removeable 5mm spacer, which can be placed into the pockets to adjust the size.
